So when the camera or the light sensors sense movement, my camera alerts me and the lights come on. The sensor I placed works only ant night so my lights aren't on all day nor trigger on dooring day light or day time. I converted mine to have additional ventilation from the backside so that my nest doesn't overheat. I imagine if used outside in this metal dome as is you would probably end up with a cooked camera.
