I've heard; Dont use brass plumbing fittings to make a pipe because when smoked out of, they put out a poisonous gas that will kill you. I've also heard the same about stainless steel becoming chromium. So when you look at the choices of screens that do you find? Stainless Steel and Brass. Hmmmm? I can offer some help on this but on the other I'm not completely sure. Heating and reheating stainless steel will in fact create chromium. I make some killer moonshine and have to deal with this. Eventually you can actually taste the chromium but it last so much longer than the brass screens. Also I do in fact think brass changes into something as well. I know they eventually discentagrate and I guess we inhale the screen or what it becomes. As for me? I choose the stainless on both. Moonshine and screens.
