The upper stays secure (even through eating and drinking) for the 12 hours the company claims. Stability in the lower I think depends on what percentage of bone you have left. I don't have a lot and the denture starts detaching after roughly 4-5 hours after applying Secure. I don't fault the product for that. :)That being said, I've decided this is really the best adhesive on the market for lower dentures. Even if I have to reapply the adhesive for the lower a couple of times a day, I have found I can eat pretty much anything I want if I reapply an hour before eating dinner. I think people with more bone in the lower ridge will have better success. One other thing - a little of this product goes a long way...there's a definite art to applying just the right amount of adhesive for maximum hold...too little and the adhesive gives out, too much and the adhesive gives out AND you end up with a mouth full of goop. I would suggest you do what I did - order a tube and experiment. Unless I'm alerted to a new and better product down the road, this is what I'll be using going forward. **Q: Since the products claims to be "waterproof" and is made to glue dentures in your mouth, I ask again, how do you clean dentures and your mouth?** A: @mech998...you leave the dentures in your mouth until they break free from the gum. The residue all seems to stay on the dentures. They suggest buying their cleaning tablets for removing the residue from the dentures. My dentist said to not use their cleanser because it's not compatible with the materials used in making mine. So, when going to bed, I soak them in hot water & by morning the residue is soft enough to knock off with your fingernail. I also keep a supply of orange sticks available so I can scrape the more difficult residue without damaging the denture. I've had NO problems with residue remaining on my gums; however, since warm water softens the residue on the dentures, I assume a good cup of coffee or hot tea would have a similar effect on the gums. I don't drink either coffee nor tea so I have NO idea IF that would loosen them before you're ready to remove them. I do know that hot soup doesn't seem to affect the seal; but, once the seal is broken, I assume hot liquid would also soften any residue left on the gums. **Q: Wby does it burn my gums?????** A: People often report "burning" when they first insert the denture. This means they didn't leave it out long after applying the adhesive. First, apply the adhesive and THEN go about your business for 10 minutes or so before popping the denture back in. See if that doesn't help. I use it every day and it never burns, and I always follow this method. **Q: My Dad has used Cushion Grip for 50+ years and now they have stopped making it. Is this product a good replacement?** A: Have not used cushion grip before, but this product worked for me for about 4- 5 hours if I don't eat anything. This is my experience with this product.
