I think the spout pours decently fast, no complaints there. It filters quickly, but I always try to let it chill for a few minutes for better taste. We use 40 and 30 oz cups and when the tank is fully filled we can refill our cups about 3 or so times each before needing to refill the tank. This is so much more convenient than smaller filters where one refill is one cup worth essentially, and it gives the extra water time to chill. Make sure to let the filter soak before using, I believe it says 10 minutes but I did about 30. Also of course wash the entire system before using. I wash ours every Sunday with scent free soap. I notice no smell from the tank or the water. For weight, it is very light even when fully filled. I think for a child or someone with less mobility it may be heavy and easy to drop. But the weight distribution due to its handle positions helps a lot. Overall this is the best filter weโ€™ve gotten in many years. It needs to be cleaned a minimum of once a week. Standing water has that problem **Q: How well does this work with hard water? I expect to need to replace the filter more often but does it make the water taste better?** A: We have well water , which is full of lime & harder water . Before buying this my daughter brought the brita which we had to change the filter like every week due to hardness of water & lime ,calcium .So we gave up , then all my small appliances started getting greener or stop working even when I scrubbed what could be washed , I was going threw lime away like crazy I had to use lime away every week and for the coffee pot the descaling light would come on every week . So I seen this & thought wow natural filters . This is /was our last hope & once I got it I set it up as instructed and have not notice any more green/lime in ice tea maker & as for the coffee maker the descaler light has not come on since as for the taste awesome crisp tasting water like you were drinking right out of a natural stream. We keep it filled all the time which you have to keep the filter wet at all times once it is placed in the container , I take out once weekly to wash the unit while keeping the filter in a bowl of water than replace filter & fill full & place in fridge the only down fall we found was the amount of room it takes up in the fridge but so very well worth it . **Q: How tall is this? It fits in my fridge well so I can have cold water, and its capacity is outstanding.
