The cheap pump will burn out. My Umbra didn't last a year and that was with little use. I purchased the simple human dispenser and it is much sturdier and you can even adjust the amount of soap it dispenses and don't need to worry about how thick the soap you use is. When your Umbra quits working, and it will, get the Simple Human model. **Q: is it easy to fill?** A: Yes, easy to fill from any of those "refill" containers, no mess. Batteries seem to last forever, too. Just a bit finicky actually registering that there's a hand in front of it and squirting. Seems to need a second pumping cycle if it's not been used for a few hours, as if the soap empties out of the pump back into the reservoir. And the surface is a bit cheap looking plastic. "Nickel" is a paint color, not a metal finish in this case! : ) **Q: what kind of soap?** A: It says it can take any kind of liquid soap. I find that if I don’t use it often it will clog up.
