Im flying Luthansa to Munich.** A: I took my large kitty over to Europe but I was flying Delta. I picked the seats ahead to chose exact one to have a bit more room. I mean the bag fits under the seat during the take off and landing that's what is most important, but it is not good to keep the animal squished down for the whole flight so I upgraded to Economy Comfort class picked last row in front of the restrooms, so I could put the bag on the floor behind me comfortably after the take of. Oh and I modified and shortened the bottom board from 20" to 18" it fits better between the legs of the seats if there are any (depends on the type of the plane). When you take the bag from under the seat your pet can use the whole size of the bag again. Hope it helps, but do your research on the plane you are flying to pick right seat, there are seats that have more leg-room than others, some have legs between each seat some have legs every other seats which is better. **Q: how long is it and do you think a medium sized havanese dog would fit into it? he is around 25lbs. and is about 19 inches long and 9 inches wide. is t** A: Our larger dog is about 25 lbs also, he is a schnauzer terrier mix. He must be taller than you havanese, longer legs. We made an 8,5 hour flight from Miami to Rio, in the cabin,and both did well in the carriers, the carrier is great. The second dog is slightly smaller, and she also used the same size carrier (extra large). There is an opening on top, where they can pop out their heads, which was very good for the bigger dog. Watch out, for he managed to get out of the carrier from that opening, onto my lap, it was a very long flight!
