I tried several other portable urinals including one with a hose but they all failed for 4 main reasons. This product works well for those who sleep on their backs. 1) One of the other products had a sharp ridge at the mouth of the urinal that cut into the inner thigh after just a few nights of use. This product has a rounded off edge at the mouth eliminating that problem. 2) Most other urinals are too wide causing the urinal to disconnect from the patient when they close their legs in a natural sleeping position. This product has a triangle shape to the main body when looking at it from one end allowing the patients legs to rest snugly against two of the triangle sides in a natural position. The weight of each leg bearing down on the sides of the urinal prevent it from moving when the patient closes his legs or moves a little. 3) Another advantage of this product is its long neck with the correct downward angle making it easier to position on the patient and ensuring liquids flow downhill into the container area. 4) The handle is sturdy and connects to the urinal at 2 ends instead of one. Other products have flimsy handles that bend causing them to leak.
