Firstly, it truly is as odorless as I think any mat could ever be. I can only detect a very faint sweet smell which I think must be the natural material itself, and only by pressing my nose to it. I gave it to my extremely chemically sensitive daughter to examine and she did not react at all which never happens. Usually it takes 30 seconds of chemical exposure for her to be sick. I am using it for paper cutting and the cuts heal smoothly and quickly. The surface is firm and it lies flat. It did not come folded, thankfully, but I still had to place a few books on it overnight to get rid of a very slight warp. It's fine now. Even for those who think they are not sensitive to chemicals...why take a chance? This is a far superior product to the cheap, noxious products made in China!!! ### ⭐⭐ Not Rotary Blade Friendly! *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2020* Nice sturdy mat, but don’t use it with rotary cutters! It dulled my new blade after just a few cuts to the point where the blade had to be replaced. Blades are too expensive to blow through so quickly.
