I use them for walking, ancd daily use. But I can tell you as a longtime Vionics customer, I was very disappointed in the quality of this shoe. And it ran small. I wear a size 9 and I am not sure a 10 would have been any better. I'[m sure they will loosen up. You definitely need to sit down. The velcroed elastic strap is for looks and doesn't make it any easier to get on and off. Bought these for yard work and they will be great for keeping dirt and bark from getting in my shoe. Not wild about the light blue soles, would have preferred white, but they're comfy enough to overlook that. I was worried that they wouldn't have enough support. I had been wearing the M Orthaheel inserts in a pair of Asics(9.5M) athletic shoes and though they were comfy, I couldn't take the squeaky noise when walking anymore.
