It was a nightmare for getting scratches but with this item they are no more, i have used it without any issue and the pan feels more stable when cooking. En mi caso lo he comprado por un problema específico que tengo al utilizar utensilios de hierro fundido, este es que el sensor de la cocina detecta sobrecalentamiento apenas a unos minutos de utilizarlos, el mantel aísla un poco el utensilio de hierro y esto no pasa jamás. No califico con 5 estrellas ya que es un poco caro y me gustaría que se pudiera usar a máxima potencia, algo muy necesario al utilizar utensilios de hierro fundido.

**Q: Can I use my cast iron on induction with this mat?**
A: Yes and don't ever use cast iron on an induction stove without it. If you do you will scratch the hell out of the glass top.

**Q: Can I use mat & diffuser to use cookware not maganitized for my induction stove top?**
A: I do it all the time with a different brand mat. Thinking of trying this mat.  I make a "sandwich" with these mats https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0789CRP5Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and this diffuser plate https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FTCJRTY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1  in between the mats. I cook daily with my ceramic and glass corning cookware this way. I have found an odd odor from the mats when they are heated on the cooktop after running them through the dishwasher though. I'll hand wash them from now on.

**Q: can I use a regular pot with this product?**
A: If you mean can you use it a regular glass cooktop with a regular pot?--NO--it would melt.  This is only to be used on an induction cooktop with induction compatible cookware.

**Q: Is the weave fiberglass that would end up pressed against the stovetop, or is it fully coated in silicone?**
A: The fiberglass is woven into the material and the ridges and edges of the mat are silicone preventing the fiberglass from pressing against the stovetop. The fiberglass is coated to prevent any scratching.

I have had this product for a good few years now and i wish i had found it at the tine i bought my new induction hob. It was a nightmare for getting scratches but with this item they are no more, i have used it without any issue and the pan feels more stable when cooking. I feel confident that this is helping my induction cooktop last longer. I frequently use and season a cast iron pan and carbon steel wok. My cooktop does not discolor, as in the past. The mat retains heat for awhile, which surprised me. Not enough to use potholder.
