I am a big guy so there are very few options for this size. It turns out that it is really thin. Maybe I didn't read the specs, but it must be a 3 mm mat. Still, it has good cushioning and is good enough. It is stickier than my $16 mat that I had before, but I still slip a bit when I sweat. It's not a full slip out, but just kind of a slow creep with my hands during down-dog. I was hoping for 100% positive grip, but maybe that just doesn't happen with yoga mats. I'm relatively new and this is my second high-end mat. The first one I got I sent back after 1 day because it was really slippery- and shorter than it's advertised length. Anyway, it's not as thick and grippy as I was hoping for, but good enough for now. If or when I get another, I think I'll try a Maduka. That's the most common high-end mat I see in class. Oh, and another thing, I didn't realize that midnight blue shows all the dirt and dust from your feet. After the first session, it had dirty foot prints all over it. I guess that's why most mats are pastel light colors- so that you can't see the dirt as much. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great but not perfect *by T***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2016* To be clear I have only had this mat for a few weeks. Length is great for me at 6'2. It really has more length than a person should need but that is very helpful when you are new like me and your foot placement is not always 100% correct.It has excellent traction when dry. Unfortunately I sweat like a pig in hot yoga and once sweat starts pooling it turns into a slip-n-slide. However, I find that regular terry cloth bath towels provide enough additional grip once it gets wet, which is a huge improvement over my older slicker mat which really had to have a yogi-toes towel.
