They were the exact length of the box it came in. Cramming them in there like that kind of made the ends start peeling. **Q: I'd like to use these outside as part of a holiday display -- do they survive snow, ice and rain?** A: They used to be trees. **Q: Do these logs peel?** A: The nature of birch is to peel. However, the logs that I purchased have only had minimal peeling. **Q: How many logs come in the order? how wide and long are they** A: 8 logs and I'm approximating 17 1/2 inches long and circumference of about 2 1/2 inches in width.
