I love this thing. It's not great for frying, though, as its heat is concentrated in a circular pattern following the heating element. It is 800 watts, but one must remember that that only applies when it calls for heat. In my case that is only about 10% of the time, which puts a 10 hour simmer at about 0.8 KWH @ 124VAC (or 0.4 KWH on your utilie's meter). It's made well and the temp controls take some getting use to. If your making something without the lid on, there will be some grease spatter to deal with, so place it where it won't damage nearby objects or use a spatter screen.I've made chicken (large enough for 2 large thighs or one breast), pork chops, seafood, beef of various cuts as well as vegetable stir fry.Things cook pretty quickly in this little treasure so make sure you keep an eye on your food!Clean up is quick and easy but must be done by hand. DO NOT toss it in your dishwasher (duh....electric skillet and water???).
