## Description

RATX RAT BAIT RATX RAT BAIT 1LB 12 BEIGE 1 POUND

Review: So, we just moved a few months ago, and to our dismay discovered mice in the heating vent system, as well as underneath of the master bathroom shower, and kitchen sink, and if that wasn't bad enough, we also discovered that there is an old abandon house on the hill above us where a huge rat colony has lived for years without any type of population control or anything at all, and we have a few cats, and our neighbor also does, too, and our dogs will kill the rats/mice as well, if they see them, so we obviously, did not want to get a normal poison type of bait that could kill the cats or dogs, and the one dog is very old, deaf, and blind, so we didnt want to use snap traps for fear of her stepping in one since she cant see anything, so this seemed to be a safe alternative for ours and our neighbors animals, as well. This is only day 2 that we've used this product, but I tell you what, they seem to LOVE this stuff! We put out 20 (yes 20) baggies of this stuff (pre-measured), mixed in baggies with, a small pinch of dry cat food, and a small pinch of mixed hamster seed, with a small little spoonful of bacon grease, and made sure to mix it all together very well, and seriously ALL 20 baggies were completely GONE by the very next day (today), so they definitely liked our little mixture! I know it can take up to a week to actually dehydrate them to the point of death, but I will update my review around that time and say if the numbers have significantly decreased or even decreased at all, by then. We put out the rest of this bag today (day 2), and it made an additional 37 baggies of death for the giant rats and their little mice buddies, so hopefully this really works and kills them all!! 😈 You may even be able to make a few more bags than we did, because after seeing how crazy they went for the 1st 20 we set out, we decided to put 3 oz's in the 37 that we put out today, just to make sure they get enough to actually die from it, because the rats that we have seen in the dumpster are seriously HUGE, like small dog sized, huge, so we figured a little extra wouldn't hurt, and might even help, lol 😈. Also, yesterday we used regular little baggies and used paper clips to hold them shut, so those are the ones that were all gone today, but the ones we made today we just used snack sized baggies and left a small corner unzipped to make sure they could smell it and would still go after it, like they did yesterday, so in my update I will also include which method seems to work better, or if they're about the same. One other thing that is worth mentioning, as well, is the company that makes this product (Eco Clear) advised us to NOT use peanut butter, as it is to sticky and the pellets tend to get stuck in the peanut butter so they can't bind to the rodents gut rendering it completely ineffective and totally useless, so be sure to use some bacon grease, seeds, cat or dog food, or do what we did and use a small amount of all of it to make its really irresistible to the rodents you're trying to kill.
Review: This past spring an empty house by me was rented out and the resident rats got evicted. About that time this big tree came down in my yard and the rats joyfully took up residence under it. They really liked the amenities of good cover and proximity to a source of food by way of being below my bird feeder. While I do not keep my feeder full the birds do drop enough seed in their twice daily meal times to encourage said rodents to stick around. The rats got fat, the rats got bold. Were often seen scampering joyfully about and brazenly coming out to check the ground under the bird feeder while I watched from above. My yard is a haven for wildlife of many kinds but I draw the line at rats and wanted to evict them... permanently but also did not want to potentially harm the pair of screech owls or the coopoers hawk who often hunt in my yard. Nor did I want to take a chance on the safety of my dogs. So I found this product at Wal-mart and decided to give it a try. I placed some of the pellets in the rats favorite hang out area and watched. A few days went by and not much happened. Eventually I saw that the pile was disturbed, scattered a bit, perhaps a bit smaller and the rats just kept dancing under my nose. So then after reading a lot of reviews here I realized that the product was lacking in flavor so I tried mixing in some peanut butter which rodents universally adore. And this was perceived as a delicious new addition to the local menu and vanished rapidly. But the rats just kept dancing. Then I read that Ratx does not recommend peanut butter because its consistency can inhibit the product from properly adhering to the rat digestive system so I mixed the last of my ratx with some bacon fat I had save and come here to order another bag. And some Peanut-butter powder. On Monday evening I mixed up 1/4 bag with about a tablespoon of powdered peanut butter with just a spritz of water to make it stick. Put that out and it was a rat feast. The pile was all gone in about 2 hours. Today is Monday again. The rats are no longer dancing. Keep in mind that as a reviewer on FB pointed out. 1 pound d of ratex will kill 4 rats. Don't underestimate the number of rats you have. I pretty consistently saw 3 rats in the area of the log playground and assumed there were more because there are always more when it comes to rodents. I used about 2.5 pounds total so far and will be maintain a bait station to mop up any youngsters that may be hanging around. But I think I have it to the point that the owls and the hawks can keep the population under better control now. And I can feel good knowing that they are safe to do so.

Great in theory.... product only effects rodents by blocking their kidney function. I usually use anticoagulant based bait blocks with success but was worried about other animals getting poisioned or secondary poisonings. So I tried this product. I set up bait boxes with cameras in them. The rats smelled the bate and it literally repelled them, the same rats I saw eating my dogs waste in the backyard and bloated dead rats the traps caught, so if these pellets repulse them it says a lot . The second night I slathered them in peanut butter. The rats licked all the peanut butter off and left the pellets without so much as a nibble. I reached out to the company they recommended soaking the pellets in olive oil or bacon grease to add "a smell" attractant . So they already have been made aware by other customers that rats dont typically eat the product as they have a general answer locked and loaded. Keep in mind this is supposed to be a cutting edge high end best on the market product and the price reflects it. For the price I shouldnt have to do anything to the product. I Tried their advice the rats licked the pellets for a bit and again left them untouched. The much cheaper anticoagulant options attract them in mass and is eaten in a night. Even if it takes a couple meals they will die as where these will sit untouched, even the ants didn't touch them. They need to make a new formula that is appetizing for vermin or add an attractant. I've now read other reviews on here saying rats wont touch the pellets with a 10 ft pole. Utterly dissapointed and a waste of my money .
