So far I've had it on every day, but I think maybe everyone else needs one, too, in order for us to be happy! I think they come in random sizes since this is actually a big old salt chunk, but mine is about 7 inches high. It's pretty hefty and would definitely break a window if it was thrown. It emits a nice, soothing glow that is adjustable with a twist of the controller. It does say it can "sweat" and leave a wet spot, but so far, I haven't noticed that. Don't use this as a reading lamp as it is a nice, amber light to (hopefully) clean the air and leave you feeling at peace. Give it a try. What do you have to lose?
