He has proven himself incapable of being trusted with a food slicing mandolin. This will at least keep his fingers out of the way I hope. I've used it and appreciate that I don't have to dig my hands into onions etc keeping the smell off of me, and hope that it will also aide me in cutting other foods as well. It appears to be made well and I like the pouch it comes with to keep it from poking me or other things when in storage.
