Review: Solid product and company - I've used Mosquito Bits for a fungus gnat infestation inside our home for a while now, and I have seen a *major* reduction in the population. We probably have in the neighborhood of about 60 plants around our house, and since we just don't have the ability to quarantine individual ones, I bought a 2 gallon sprayer and apply the solution on all of them every time I water. As research suggests, a fungus gnat problem won't go away overnight... but between the Mosquito Bits and sticky traps, ours is definitely under control. I'd also like to say that the folks at Summit Chemical were kind enough to ship us a replacement bag of product after one of ours seemed to have been cut by a box cutter (knife) as someone was unpacking them from a cardboard shipping box at the desertcart warehouse. **Q: We have a large artificial pond.  What would be the application equation for a 90 foot x 50 foot pond, up to 7 feet deep at center gently sloping?**
A: Hi Thomas,   the manufacturer advertises that 8 ounces of mosquito bits treats at least 200 square feet of pond surface ... you have about 4500 square feet of surface.   In my understanding that would mean your pond would require about UP TO 180 ounces or 11.25 pounds to treat.

**Q: what is the shelf life of these? it would take me a few years to go through this 5 gallon bucket?**
A: I purchased a five-gallon bucket in 2018. It still works, though I believe it is not quite as potent as when it was fresh. We are in Hawaii so I keep the bucket well-sealed in a dehumidified room.

**Q: Is this product safe around honey bees?**
A: I believe it is,  you can also call the company

**Q: Will this harm livestock that drink out of water?**
A: No harm that we have ever seen ... including birds.

Mosquito bits does help to get rid of fungus gnats. The BTI eats the larvae in the soil. Then use your sticky traps to catch the adults. Wash and repeat until they are gone. DO NOT put the mosquito bits in the pot themselves you will grow fungi and start to literally grow mushrooms, tall and white in color...super gross. Use a cheesecloth to soak the bits in water, like a tea bag and just use the water made.
