They run VERY warm. Maybe that is a normal attribute to Edison-type bulbs, but it was very noticeable as soon as they were turned on after installation. The brightness is adequate to my expectations for a 30W equivalent bulb. However, the color of the light is a sickly yellow, like what you see on those antiqued photographs. For where I put them (in our kitchen over the eat-in table), my wife likes them, so that is what matters most. I have concerns about longevity due to the thermal load of these bulbs, but only time will tell.
