The L50 has a micro usb port for charging and the C3 has a type-C charging port. Both models have charging indicator lights that glow red when charging and green when fully charged. I don't believe that either model has built-in overcharge protection however if you unplug your torch when the indicator light is green there won't be an issue. I can highly recommend both the L50 and the C3 each perform equally though the C3 has the more modern type-C port and the design is slightly shorter in length than the L50. **Q: I don’t have a computer with usb facility, does this matter, i only have tablet and mobile?** A: You don’t need a computer. You just need any USB charger/port to plug the wire in that comes with the torch in order to charge it. So you can use your phone charger for example. It’s a great torch. **Q: Does it get hot when used?** A: Yes I does **Q: I want a spare battery for it.
