You don't know what quality they're going to be for a start. And when it's something bought to gift to another person, you don't want to appear as though you haven't put a lot of thought, effort or money into their card for the event in which they're celebrating.Such as, if the card looks or feels cheap, has a lot of dirty finger prints on as lots of people have handled it prior to you buying it in a shop.Granted yes, they say it's the thought that counts but in my opinion, if it's too thin & dirty, you'd have been better not sending a card. Think how you feel if & when you've received a very thin card & think how the recipient may feel when they receive a greetings card from you, especially if it's picked over, bent & bad quality - it'll come across as though you picked up the cheapest card with no thought put into it.The card needs to be fresh, clean, in it's intended shape & the amount of gsm is crucial for the thickness of the greetings card, it has to be good quality & hopefully meaningful.I can assure you, this is great value & excellent quality!It felt almost better than if it had been purchased in a shop due to it not being handled over & over again, plus it was fresh out of it's sealed cellophane wrap. It hadn't been:Picked up numerous times.Coughed over by who knows who, with who knows what, especially in the times we're living in.Opened up too far & curved out of shape.Put back in it's slot without care & bent the edges of the card.Mucked up with dirty fingers.Down to the reasons above & the pandemic were in all over the world, I think it'd be far safer purchasing from online retailers rather than a card shop or somewhere you can physically buy a card. I wouldn't want to handle an item several other people have touched & coughed over & I definitely wouldn't want to then pass that item on & into someone else's home. I'd much rather be safe being able to unwrap the card from it's cellophane & write.When I've made purchases, I disinfect items that are able to be.
