They are a good long size and width and I found them easy to use.I just used a little container but they would look best in a vase or better a mini case.I used in my case a mix of lavender essential oil and some calming cat oil as there's an impending change in the cats environment and I like to pre chill the cat beforehand!I found the reeds carried the oil well up them by smelling the reed I could tell with half hour it had travelled about half way up it, and the remaining too half was far less smelly but had some scent. It would have been easier to judge them with light coloured ones as they would have been wetter and therefore darker in those areas which had soaked the oil up but my nose is very good at detection do I'm certain of the right amount just not the precise measure it travelled.
