I am a 60 year old woman and have one daughter and I only used Vicks on her as well. She's had pneumonia 13 times in her 35 years and those were all before the age of 13 so we've used a ton of it also. I was reading the ingredients one day for what reason I have no idea and noticed it has Turpentine oil in it. I don't want that on my skin so I literally threw away all of my Vicks and ordered this the same day. When I received it I wasn't sure it would be enough because I couldn't really smell anything but I was very wrong. It has the same effect that Vicks does without all of that smell to it. It really opens up your nasal and bronchial passages well and you're breathing well in no time! I actually like the smell of Vicks but I really LOVE the smell of this. It must be the Lavender, it is not strong but it is so soothing and nice! Lavender is one of my favorite smells so that is a plus. It is subtle, not strong smelling.
