## Description

Legines brass reducing coupling is a brass pipe fitting with female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads on both ends for connecting male pipes. This reducing coupling has one end that is smaller than the other for connecting different sizes of pipe going in the same direction. It has NPT threads for creating tighter seals than straight threads and is made of brass, which is comparable in strength to stainless steel and is also more corrosion resistant. Pipe fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries. When purchasing pipe fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size and required durability. **Q: 1/8 NPT: is this 1/8 x 18 - meaning 18 threats per inch?**
A: yes

**Q: Can this item be used on a pressure washer with 3100psi ?**
A: I would say this fitting would not be appropriate as the description does say it is good for operating pressures of up to 1200psi.  There may be a brass version made heavier for use at higher pressure, or perhaps one made of stainless steel instead of brass.  I am using it at very low pressure in a computer water cooling loop to adapt thread sizes where a smaller and lighter fitting was preferable for me.  I would search for a fitting that states it is good for a 3100psi working pressure or higher, or you are taking a risk of serious injury should this fitting burst.

**Q: Which size fits a Schrader valve?**
A: A Shrader valve is: 0.305" in OD, thread root diameter 0.302" in x 32 tpi (threads per inch). A Shrader valve is not a NPT thread. Try B09QMCF6BK.
