I could see inside and see some crystals of some mineral in the one that was broken. Not sure what mineral but looked kinda square so maybe feldspar (orthoclase). Anyhow just using them in a drain to prevent erosion and I think they'll be good for that (wife had removed previous ones that were there in order to support a bird bath). Review: Would recommend! - These rocks are exactly what I had hoped for. They come in different sizes and shapes. I bought them in hopes to start painting rocks to leave around my city. They were exactly as described. They came earlier than expected which is a huge plus for me. I would 10/10 recommend. I’ve added a photo of the first two rocks I’ve painted to give an idea of size and shape. Only a few broken... but hey....they're rocks. Most with good color. Most at the upper end of the 1 to 3 inch range. Thanks to the previous reviewer who suggested using a varathane (outdoor) coating if you want the rocks to shine. I "painted" 120 pounds of rocks and it only took a couple of hours.
