Roo is likely not very interested because she can't actually tear the encasement fabric or stick her claws into it in the (to her) same satisfying way she could into the previous box spring. If her claws were very sharp (we keep them trimmed) they might leave pin-point punctures the fabric (she's a small cat, with small claws), but this encasement's fabric is just not tearable. By extension, this encasement must certainly also work to keep out bedbugs, et al, as it's intended.
