Review: Can't go wrong with Jandy! - For some reason my pool builder didn't put a shutoff valve on the main drain line. I didn't realize I needed one until I started learning about vacuuming the pool floor. Rather than waiting for the pool builder to have some time to install it for me, I ordered a Jandy valve and took on the job myself. It was a pretty simple job. The only challenge was figuring out a way to keep the water from the drain line away from the area where the new valve was to be installed. For that I used a balloon attached with a thin hose zip tied to it. By blocking the water, I was able to keep the work area clean and dry. When the cpvc cement dried, I simply let the air out of the balloon and pulled it out and put the valve back together.
