I think the seeds might have gotten stale during that time, because after 10 days the most recent batch barely germinated. I have them under a growing light, but it doesn’t seem to be helping. The replacement hemp mats are currently only available on our website but will be shipping into Amazon soon also. **Q: Is the micro green tray reusable?** A: I’m not sure exactly what you are asking. The bamboo box is reusable, the plastic insert is reusable, and the hemp mat that the seeds grow in needs replacement after growing one crop of micro greens, as far as I can tell. I have used the set up twice since it came with 2 hemp mats and the company offered additional seeds free, that I took advantage of. The beauty of the hemp mat is that it can be composted, does not impart soil to your micro greens, so there isn’t any dirt to wash off after harvesting. **Q: Is it normal to have a white fuzz pop up around the sprouts?** A: Yes, it's normal- the white fuzz is micro roots. **Q: Can I use coco coir that’s not in mat form with this system? Pros and cons?** A: Hi Linda - Great question. You can for sure use coco coir fiber soil. In fact we recommend it for certain microgreens that grow better in soil such as pea sprouts. However it is no longer a self watering system. So the answer is you can use either soil or hemp mats with this system. The insert and hemp mats can be used with about 75% of microgreens seeds types and the insert can be taken out and coco coir soil used instead for the other 25% of microgreens seeds. It’s SUPER easy to grow and the only thing I can add that isn’t in the instructions or video is this - once I take the black cover off (I wait 72 hours) I set it near a window that gets really good morning light. I turn the tray every day so that the greens do not grow in only one direction. They REACH for the sun!
