They are the same width, so the pet gates with flaps were tall enough to let the dog in to munch on litter box treasures. Now that we own our home and can cut holes in the door to the cat room, this product became an option. I like that it is wide enough to let my cat in without squeezing but too short for the dog to force herself through. My husband borrowed a jigsaw from the neighbor, popped the door off the hinges, and had this thing installed and the door back in place all within an hour. I love the peace of mind from knowing that the crunch buffet is closed. I love that I don't have to mess with weird barricades or gates to access the room.
