I was skeptical about the compass not working after reading all the negative reviews about it not working for many people, but I noticed very fast that if you remove the mat from the case the compass works perfectly I mean perfectly. I place the compass flat on my fingers above the palm and it lines right up. I compared it side by side with Qibla compass on my phone and it lined up absolutely perfectly. I will buy more for gifts inshallah

**Q: Which number should the triangle on the compass point towards if i am in new york city? i lost the small paper that came with it.**
A: Sorry, I do not know. I guess you should ask for Instructions as file attachment from seller or the customer who just bought it. Unfortunately I do not have that instruction paper too. I am using the prayer rug though.

**Q: Can this go inside the washing machine?**
A: Salam.. thank you for contacting Islamic Gifts 123.  This is polyester mat, I used for travel only, I used wet cloth to clean sometimes, never tried in machine.

**Q: How thick is it?**
A: This is  polyester paper thin,after folding is less than 1/4 Inch thick with pouch.This not house hold full size,it is portable.

This little Prayer Mat is an excellent product for those on the go. Measuring 60cm x 100cm, it’s just the right size for quick and comfortable use when you are traveling - lay it out, pray, fold it up, and go. The portable polyester material is lightweight and easy to carry, and the included compass is a thoughtful addition for ensuring proper prayer direction. Obviously, this is not the most comfortable as it is just a thin polyester mat - but it's perfect to have in the glove compartment of my car to be able to use anytime anywhere. Lay it out in a parking lot or grass space.
