## Description

Please check model number on original drive's Circuit Board BDP-020 BDP-025 before purchase. The new DVD drive will need to be “flashed” with your console’s security key or will need to have your old drive's board swapped into the new replacement drive. Your original drive logic board (BDP-020/BDP-025) must be installed! Professional installation is highly recommended.

Review: Used dirty junk - Advertised as new. What I got was a dirty dusty used disc drive. At least wipe it off before you put it in the box lol. The thin metal shield was bent and 3 screws were rusted so just used mine from the original drive. I also swapped out my daughter board onto the replacement drive. The rollers inserting the disc seemed to be struggling - it read the disc, installed and played the game OK. After ejecting the disc which again struggled, the eject rollers continued running as if a disc was still in there; they continued running for a full 30-45 sec after the disc was removed. After this it would not accept a new disc because it thought a disc was still in there. I rebooted the PS4 and immediately after reboot the rollers started running again. It wouldn't accept a disc again. Sounds like from others it's more of the same. If you want to roll the dice and try to get a good replacement drive go for it. But I will be staying away from this used junk.

I installed this in just ten or fifteen minutes, using the excellent instructions on the iFixit website. Unless you know how to flash your drive/board, you'll just need to swap over the old controller board from your old Bluray drive, which is just a few phillips screws once you have the drive removed. My old drive stopped spinning, so I needed a replacement. This drive worked perfectly as soon as it was installed and was a great deal.
