This pool depth is measured from the pool floor to the top of the pool coping, not the depth of the water. For pools deeper than 52 inches, the Long leg kit is recommended to ensure that the ramp is not too steep so your dog can comfortably enjoy the pool! The incline for pool ramp with the Standard legs is approximately 30 degrees when placed in a pool with a 52” measurement, as shown in the diagram below. The vast majority of dogs find this incline very comfortable. However, if you’ve got a pool with a depth of 52” or less, but you’d like a gentler incline, you can certainly order the pool ramp with the long legs that will provide a milder slope. How to Measure Your Pool Firstly, grab your measuring tape. Measure the depth of your pool from the pool floor to the top of the pool coping where the top of the ramp will rest. **Q: Tips for stabilizing? It's wobbly, and if my 75lb lab doesn't go down it perfectly straight before jumping in it falls over. The legs want to float.**
A: Make sure legs are filled with water and firmly in pace first and get the brackets they sell for stabilizing…. They work well for my malinois 💕

**Q: can this be used off a dock into a natural lake?**
A: Good afternoon, if there was a way to keep the ramp afloat halfway submerged in the water that would be best. This Pool Bundle, requires the legs to touch the floor of the pool. We are experimenting with a few different options right now including using some buoys that mount to the threads under the ramp. As of right now, we don't have anything specifically designed for the lake.

**Q: Do you think we could use this ramp during the winter to allow dog to climb into a bed?  (pool summer / bed winter)**
A: Yes, the PetStep ramp could absolutely help your pup into your bed!  Many owners have done just that. Bear in mind that it is 70" long when unfolded.

**Q: Can this be used outside the pool? My dog has trouble getting up the ladder into the pool, would this work the other way around to help him get in?**
A: So the pool legs themselves are approximately 24" long, so the end of the ramp would be 24" off of the ground on the outside of the pool.  If you can get your dog up to the ramp - two feet - either with steps or by lifting, it would absolutely allow him or her to use the ramp from the outside of the pool to get into the pool. My only concern is that it doesn't sound like you've got a deck around the pool.  Without a deck your pup wouldn't have anywhere to stand once they've reached the top of the ramp. perfect for my grandpup! Seems a little pricey but what can you do ?! Chemicals (maybe chlorine?) seem to attach to the legs like barnacles but do wash off. Made entering and especially existing the pool perfect for him! I ordered the standard size and while it's a little too steep to be set up along the top edge of the pool, its perfect when set up on the top step of my in-pool ladder (although then that blocks the ladder for us humans! lol!)
