Amazingly, the previous owner had the original Varta 3.6v battery replaced, but un-amazingly the replacement was beginning to leak. Thankfully this PB400 model had the option to use an external battery (I was not going to disassemble the computer to de-solder the existing battery and replace it only to have to do it all over again) and this TL-5242/W was truly 'plug and play'. I simply snipped the old battery out, changed jumper settings, and plugged this in. All with power physically disconnected, of course. It works.
