**Q: Will this work as an expression pedal with the Line 6 M13? Is a "volume pedal" the same thing as an "expression pedal"?**

As mentioned by Harry De Gray Cat, "volume pedal" is usually used to refer to an "audio attenuation" pedal, that you'd use in-line between an instrument and the amp, just like most guitar pedals.  "Expression pedal" is a control input into a device (like the Line 6 M13) to control some parameter, the default usually being volume but it could also control the frequency of a filter sweep, like a wah pedal, or the delay on an echo effect.  So, it's more versatile, but it needs to plug into some device that implements the effect; it's just a controller.

**Q: Used or new plz ?**
A: Always new when it comes to electronics.

**Q: can this make swells on the guitar?**
A: The Yamaha FC7 Control Pedal can NOT be used directly inline with a guitar. However, the pedal may be compatible with some amplifiers/effects units if they have a "Controller" or "Expression" input.

**Q: Can I use this for guitar**
A: YES you can use it for a guitar if you have the right multi effects pedal. I just bought a Zoom G3 and it works all the expression pedal effects not just the volume. I've used it with the Zoom G1, G1N and the A2 pedals and it always worked. Just plug it into the Control In input jack.
