How is it attached** A: This item is just a vent with a one way valve that lets air in and keeps sewer gasses out. From what I now, it can be used under a sink inside a room, so if your pump is for a sink, should be used wherever you would have placed the vent pipe. I used mine outdoors. It is pvc glued, has an adaptor, see description. May want to consult local building codes to see if allowed in your area. Do not know if able to vent a toilet, if that is what you are doing. A sink should be ok. good luck. **Q: will this prevent sewer gasses from comoing out the septic vent pipe** A: This worked for me. I was having a horrible odor and nothing was working. After a few phone calls to knowledgeable people I discovered the little things wear out or get clogged and need to be replaced. Worked for me and I have not had any problems since I replaced it.
