The setup was somewhat difficult but after a few tries it works. First, the manual says to hold the reset button for 5 seconds but it's more like 15 seconds. When adding a device, it doesn't seem you can choose a model model number so I had to use the 4th iteration for my Hisense AC. The first didn't operate it, the second worked but any button pressed toggled power, the second didn't operate it then the fourth worked. I still don't understand how to add additional buttons but it does have buttons for power, temp and fan speed. The worse part is it forces my AC to Celsius but I have it tied to Alexa so I can ask the change the temp in Fahrenheit which it does but in decimal like 75.2 for 76 degrees since it's actually using Celsius. I have attempted to hook the Smart Life app to IFTTT but it appears the device is not supported. Actually none of my devices in Smart Life are showing up. All good though since it is working fine with Alexa. The only major negative issue is that while my AC might be on, both Alexa and Smart Life show it to be off so while away, it might appear to be off so when turning it on via this device it actually turns it off. I had to physically power off my AC to make it match the remote. This has happened twice for some reason. Then let it discover the device and then go to a sub-page in the app to add the devices you want to control via brand. Next thing you have to do for it to work with Alexa Echo, you have to add it to ALEXA'S TALENTS ( actually once you download the app thats the first thing you want to do.) All that being said and done though, once it's setup, works flawlessly.
