The pieces are a nice size, not too small for if there are smaller kids around, they aren't small enough to choke on and it's easier for kids to manoeuvre and is nice and colourful. I haven't seen the glow-in-the-dark feature, but I could feel the coating of it on the pieces and it seemed to be properly placed and as a bonus, adds texture to the pieces.
