It is VERY thick and warm. Beautiful color. The only thing is that the edges aren't sewn and neither are the fringes. No-one would ever notice that though! Also, since the shawl is heavy it lays like a blanket on your shoulders a little bit. It could work for over a formal gown, but it would work better if it were a little bit thinner.
