If outdoors I'd also put a few rounds of electrical tape just to be on the safe side **Q: Do these come in a plano box with compartments?** A: Mine did not. Once I figured out the right amount of crimping after the first couple, they work great! The trick is not to over crimp and score/break the outer shell, otherwise when you heat them they will split open where they were marked. Another point, make sure to use a heat gun and heat steadily, just don't blast it with max heat (which will also cause them to split or shrink too fast). I find these stronger and more willing to avoid any one accidentally pulling the crimp out when working around the splice compared to the not self sealing. This is my first use of this exact brand, but they are just as consistent as others I have used in the past and a quick torch or heat gun they shrink properly and easily. Inside crimp tube is tapered to allow wires to slide in easier. The shrink material doesn't get pierced when crimping, even with my standard wire strippers (the cheap electrical pliers). It shrinks, seals, crimps, and connects.
