It's dimensions are: HEIGHT (5 3/4"), WIDTH (3 3/4"), DEPTH (1 1/2").The dimensions you list in your question, however, are for the GMT 312.And I own both meters. **Q: for voltage measurements, does it need battery to operate?** A: It shouldn't need a battery for voltage tests. Battery is needed for continuity testing, and resistance testing. This is a theoretical answer.
