For me, this isn't much of a problem as it'll be outside of a wetsuit or mounted on my console. The only drawback is that the face isn't recessed and will undoubtedly become scratched or damaged with use. Review: This item is a piece of garbage. The temperature did not change regardless of the location - inside a heated home and outside in the middle of winter. On top of it all, they do not accept returns. This company is a joke and should be ashamed of themselves. I know it is only about $7, but in this economy every penny counts. No doubt to my body heat being conducted to it through the plastic touching my skin. I've not tested it to see if it's accurate when I'm not wearing it.
