## Description

A Well Cap is sometimes referred to as a “turtle” because of its unique shape. This style of well cover is the most common. It has a unique bump-out which covers the electrical conduit (usually plastic) with wires for the submersible pump. Turtles may be made from plastic, zinc, aluminum and cast iron. Some have side-bolts which clamp the turtle to the well casing, and others screw from the top, into a ring with threaded holes.The EarthStraw Cap is cast and machined from aluminum and provides is a quick, easy and rugged replacement cap with integrated mounting for the EarthStraw. It is simple-to-install and fits right over any standard 6" casing, and is then held in place by tightening the bolts around the perimeter lip.This cap is machined at our factory in Arkansas, and comes with a center access hole and a rugged black nylon gripper which holds the EarthStraw for pumping. If there should be an obstruction below the factory location of the mounting access point, the hole can easily be redrilled in a better location using drill kit (ESDK-001) which comes with a hole saw and a plug to cap off the original hole.

**Q: Is this a complete set or will need to buy other parts like pipe, primer extra?**
A: This is just the cap.   It does not come with anything.  You need the pump, pipe and anything else.  This just hovers the hole.  The picture is deceptive.

**Q: Does this unit come with a hose to reach the water level? If so how long is it?**
A: No, this is just the well cap.  You will need to order the Earth Straw which comes in various lengths.

**Q: What is the *tested* maximum (average) vacuum developed by the hand pump?**
A: I guess it would be whatever the pump you buy to go with this well cap has.  This is just the cap that goes onto the well.  They are tricky putting the image of the well cap with a pump.  I thought they sent me the wrong thing at first.  I didn’t even use it because of this.

**Q: If pumping 60' vertical approximately how many gallons per minute would you pump?**
A: The absolute limit of water 'lift' for any single stage hand pump is only 34ft = equals barometric pressure of 14 psig.   That 34 ft. maximum 'lift' is for a 'perfect' system.
