Clean up nice too. Some edges were a little sharp so filed those off but extremely happy with purchase. **Q: Are these sharp enough to pierce through pig skin?** A: I don't know, never having tried to pierce anything stronger than a sausage casing, but these skewers are not all that sharp. Few are. However, the metal isn't all that hard, and one can sharpen them with a file. Or a hammer and anvil. It might be better to make a piercing tool from an old knife, and leave the skewers blunt, to cut down on accidental self skewering. **Q: Are these oven safe?** A: I haven't used them in an oven. But I have used them over a bed of coals on one of my grills and the coals get to approximately 1000 degrees.
