The idea was that the bounce light would produce a nice ambient night-light effect. I'm surprised by how bright the lowest-level of dimming is, I would want them to go much dimmer. Also, the color presets on the remote were clearly programmed by a color-blind chimpanzee. The "White" is really a blue-ish purple. I figured that I could just program a white color using their DIY section, but YOU CAN'T DIM IF YOU'RE IN A DIY MODE. I ended up using one of their "yellow" presets (which is really a greenish orange)Ultimately, I'm nit-picking. I picked these lights up for $15. If I had paid $10 for a set that didn't have the multi-color functions, and it had the yellow-green-orange preset light that I'm using, I'd be pretty happy. The ability to go to a custom color is a cool feature. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ About just as good as most others. *by J***F on April 19, 2017* I'm on the fence about giving this item 4 stars -- if it continues to hold up, there are a few things about it that will make me knock it down to 3 if they turn into real issuesWhat I like:-Quick to setup-Very bright with great colors-uniform lighting-Can daisy chain multiple strips-Can be shortened easily-Low costWhat I don't like-The remote is not straight forward -- there are a lot of buttons, few with a clear definition of what they do (you can't just look at the remote and figure out)-The strip was sticky in some spots, not as well in others -- however, this could have been because of the surface I was mounting it to, so I did not deduct stars for this-The range for the receiver is very small, so it took a while for me to find the best spot for it.I did not test how water resistant these are as I'm using them in a very dry room indoors ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great but needs a power button *by D***R on November 26, 2017* Works great but needs a power button.
