What is the ingredients in this product ?** A: I believe the primary ingredient in Vetasyl is psyllium fiber with a trace amount of malted barley extract (think of it as Metamucil for pets) This product worked really well for my cat although i would have given Lax--Eze a try had i known about it since it is substantially cheaper. I never understood why Vibrac didn't make Vetasyl available in a straight powder form. **Q: How is this any different than regular human fiber? My vet recommended regular which seems to be significantly cheaper.** A: I do not know the answer. However, my vet recommended Vetasyl for cats, and this has worked well for my kitty cat. It is a lot less expensive on Amazon than at the Veterinarian's office too. Susan Tucker **Q: Is this FDA approved?** A: I am not sure if it is FDA approved. It was recommended by my vet for my dog. She was on it for many years and also helped solve the problems she was having. I started seeing improvement in her between days 7-14. The other cat was a foster turned foster-fail, these didn't work for him, but it turns out he had mediastinal lymphoma brewing the entire time, and we just didn't see it in his bloodwork or stool samples. (RIP Alabon). These are great for the price point and more affordable than the Rx food that I originally started to buy for my senior gal- easier to give to her separately too!
