There are very strong magnets on those 4 towers on the stand as you can see from my video. The pen is made from aluminum and feels lightweight, but very sleek. I love the matte navy-blue color. A: Hello Marcella, I took a vid with my phone for your reference. As you can see in the video, the silver (pearl gray) pen is almost the same color as the silver pedestal, while the dark gray one is much darker.

This thing is pretty cool. I got it for my boss who has everything- & he got a kick out of it. It actually writes really well too. It was a little pricey but it gave an older man a chuckle so worth it!
