REALLY. *by R***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2016* So we spent 8 days in the Langhe area of the Piedmont region of Italy last month on a food trip with a chef and her sommelier husband. This was where I was introduced to this oil. It was placed on the table at a lovely Michelin starred restaurant where we had lunch. I was familiar with Frescobaldi wines, but was unaware that they also produce olive oil. Laudemio means the oil is not only from the first press, but from the same day the olives are harvested. Freshest of the fresh. It is different from anything else. It's a gorgeous color and has a brisk bite to it. It is expensive so it really is wasted on any sort of cooking. It is a great finishing oil splashed on soup, pasta, fish or a great grilled piece of meat. Lovely to dip crispy bread or on a salad with a little lemon. I brought several bottles back but have since ordered from Amazon. It is the same oil and I am thrilled to find it. Best to find "vintage" not much more than two years old. Once opened, use within 18 months (although I really cannot imagine it not being gone long before that!).
