Supported Applications -Mold for Precious and Non-Precious casting (non-ferrous metals including gold, silver, aluminum, brass, bronze, zinc, etc) -Use as a facing sand with other sand systems such as water-bonded greensand. -Backing sand for delft-clay in order to increase delft clay utilization. Directions/Use Notes -Sand should be riddled (broken up) prior to placing against pattern. -Moderately heavy ramming or pressing is required for optimal mold performance. -Appropriate mold release should be used with all patterns to avoid sticking and to maximize detail reproduction (Teton-Part™ or similar is recommended) Application Notes Cold Sensitivity: Dry and Powdery Sand that does not hold form -Use and store above 65F -Sand may become powdery or dry if exposed to cold. Regenerating Sand (fix dry sand) -Add a tiny amount of isopropyl alcohol to the sand (ideally via bottle sprayer) and mix well. Generally, less than 1/2 teaspoon Alcohol required for 10lb evenly spread through the sand. -Always allow alcohol to evaporate completely before attempting to use sand. Reusing Sand/Black Crust -Sand is mostly resuable per casting. -Small amount of black crust is formed around the casting. -This crust is two parts: 1. Black sand. 2.
