**Q: Can this be used outdoors? Is it waterproof? How long does the battery last?**
A: Mine is on the garage service door, somewhat protected from rain by overhang but definitely outdoors. Batteries life depends on number of uses; mine gets used a half dozen times a day and lasts a year or more.

**Q: Is the Keypad silent or does it make sounds when pressed? If yes, can it be muted?**
A: Yes makes a little noise, I didn’t investigate if can be silent

**Q: Can the automatic locking mechanism be turned off so the door knob can be manually opened from outside indefinitely ?**
A: You can use the lock without batteries but once the door closes you need to use the key to open great lock 10/10

**Q: I have tried to program an entry code and it does beep twice, the the back light goes out and does not come back on, what should I do?**
A: Charge the lock and then it should operate properly.

Okay this little door know is a great buy. It came in time shipped appropriately so there was no damage. Directions are there but I hardly read them. This was one of the most easiest set ups ever and I have a bunch of number locks. The coolness is what I like meaning there is two keys that come with luck when you look at the door knob you would never know the lock is underneath that I like a lot. Even though I have never once in 2 years have had to use my keys nor have I had a problem with the number lock pad itself. Installation was simple both parts of the normal on one side of the door it screws into each other where you add batteries. I did not add rechargeable batteries just Duracell batteries. There is on the inside part of the door a charge slot which the door knob comes with a charger where you can charge it by Electric also. I have only had to change the batteries once in 2 years and with that being said was not locked out of the house it gave a lower tone noise letting you know when pressing the buttons the batteries were dying to give you ample time to change them if I could being on a limited income I would change every single door knob and keypad lock in my house to this lock. This lock that's five stars all the way around and would definitely buy it again. The keypad is easy to program. There is also a way that you can press your code with other numbers if someone is there so they do not know the code to the house ....that is even better...smart. For me it's the little things that matter the most. This doorknob 100% would buy it again.
