It has a funny shrimp-ish smell when you open the pack; I rinse it twice with cold water then boil it for 5 minutes and drain it and the smell is all gone. It absorbs any flavor you put on it. I make curry chicken with extra sauce then mix it with the rice, noodles, or pasta. The texture is a little bit chewy but I find it very acceptable. I really loved it and I'm going to re-order. I just wish it was less expensive. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Pasta Substitute? *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2019* I've been on low-carb for almost a year and I've tried lots of ways to replace the breads and pastas that I love. This isn't it. I bought the variety pack to try different shapes for replacement, but I really don't like the texture. Rinsing the product well before using works fine and dry frying improves the taste and texture, but I still don't like it. It could be just me, though, because I have Aspergers and do sometimes run into problems with food textures. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4g of carbs and 4g of dietary fiber which is great on a low carb diet.
