They base the dose for these on 240 calories/day, which is not sufficient for long term survival, they print on the package that the average person needs 600 - 800 calories per survival, so instead of six 60 day supplies, you really need 18 60 day supplies, and if you're going to spend that kind of money ($2000+), you may as well get a 1 year supply of dehydrated food that's going to be a lot more healthy (and much more tolerable than eating survival tabs every day) and will provide you with 1800-2000 calories/day. If you really want survival rations, then I'd look at getting some 3600 calorie survival bars, which you can find for $10/each or less in bulk, so for $1000 you could have 1000 calories/day of survival rations, much better deal than survival tabs. **Q: I live in SoCal where it's hot all the time. Will these spoil staying in my car trunk?** A: 1st: Survival tabs are made of low-effective &/or lab-analogue vitamins. And the nutritional panel does not even list potassium..extremely important to survival. And, the label does NOT disclose the dose per each serving, only % of daily amount..which is usually extremely deficient for most. That means, it starts out deficient, w/misleading label info, & with exposure to heat in a parked car, it will become less usable, in even one day in a hot car. 2nd: Directions say to store in dry, room temp area. That is a direct conflict with “store in your car” said later. DO NOT STORE IN ANY HOT AREA. STORING NUTRITIONAL ITEMS IN A HOT AREA, WILL RUIN THEM AS NUTRITIONAL, & MIGHT GET RANCID. Cars reach upwards of 120* to 160*F parked in sun, even if outside temps are still in the 30’s to 50’s *F. We’ve measured our car @ about 108*F when air temp outside was 33*F. If you want to travel w/them, keep them in backpack or purse with you, to avoid them sitting in a hot car….For any amount of days! BOTTOM LINE: a container of ANY emergency supplies w/medicines, foods, or germicidals, in a car for “just in case”, can cause you Harm, because those things are badly affected by heat &/or light. Even over a day or two. Doing that with an already minimal dose of nutrition, risks turning them into at best, “empty calories”, at worst, harmful to humans changes to the contents. **Q: Do you heat them up add water or just chew them up??** A: you just eat them. they are not for cooking or dissolving in water.
